I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, Spiritual Director certified from Denver Seminary, a Certified Addictions Counselor III, and an RN with more than 30 years experience ranging from acute hospital care to public health and psychiatric care. For three years I worked as a nurse health educator at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, and then served over nine years at the Betty Ford Center. For five of those years I was the Director of Nursing. Additionally, I served as head nurse of a Christ Centered Rapha program in an acute psychiatric unit in Colorado. I am also a Certified Splankna therapist.
I am on the counselor referral list at Focus on the Family where I was a staff counselor for two and a half years. I am also on the referral list of several area churches.
While credentials such as these are simply the minimum threshold of what a counselor brings to you they do reflect the depth and diversity of my background and life experiences.
In my downtown private practice, I serve adults from across Colorado Springs, Monument, and Woodland Park. Services I offer include: Individual Counseling, Marriage Counseling, Group Counseling, Spiritual Formation, Addictions Counseling, Expressions in Art Therapy, and Custom Intensives.
When we work together it is important to me that I create a safe and supportive haven in which you will find the freedom to simply tell your story. As you share with me, you will experience the security and dignity of knowing that you are truly being heard. I have had clients say, “You are a true listening presence.”
As your story unfolds we will explore the realm your true heart. As you share the most sensitive and tender portions of your story we have the opportunity to address root issues. With your courage and God’s help we will discover the lies you have believed and we will umask disempowering vows that may have prohibited you from experiencing the fullness of life as God intended.
“To find meaningful engagement in this world with this one precious life you’ve been given cannot happen without courageously wrestling with your story and its Author.” Jon DeWall
