About

Joni Zepp

Licensed Professional Counselor, Spiritual Director

I am a

Licensed Professional Counselor,
Spiritual Director

I am certified from Denver Seminary, a Certified Addictions Counselor III, and an RN with more than 30 years experience ranging from acute hospital care to public health and psychiatric care. For three years I worked as a nurse health educator at the Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California, and then served over nine years at the Betty Ford Center. For five of those years I was the Director of Nursing. Additionally, I served as head nurse of a Christ Centered Rapha program in an acute psychiatric unit in Colorado.

I am on the counselor referral list at Focus on the Family where I was a staff counselor for two and a half years, and New Life Ministries (CA). Credentials and training are important as well as life experience and my personal journey. They enrich the depth and dimension of my background and my perspectives.

When we work together it is important to me that I create a safe and supportive haven in which you will find the freedom to simply tell your story. As you share with me, you will experience the security and dignity of knowing that you are truly being heard. I have had clients say, “You are a true listening presence.”

As your story unfolds we will explore the realm your true heart. As you share the most sensitive and tender portions of your story we have the opportunity to address root issues. With your courage and God’s help we will discover the lies you have believed and we will unmask disempowering vows that may have prohibited you from experiencing the fullness of life as God intended.

“To find meaningful engagement in this world with this one precious life you’ve been given cannot happen without courageously wrestling with your story and its Author.”
— Jon DeWall

Call or email if you would like me to walk this journey with you.

“To love means loving the unloveable.
To forgive means pardoning the unpardonable. Faith means believing the unbelievable.
Hope means hoping when everything
seems hopeless.”

— Eugene Peterson

See. Hear. Remember.

You will find below a list of some of the specific areas I can address for you. As we work together I want to bring the comfort of being heard and the growth of trust into our sessions.

It will be my joy to listen to and hear the story of your journey. One person told me “You have a true listening presence.” Another said, “You hear me. You know me in a way other people don’t.” Very often the road to regaining an awareness of and confidence in our own value begins with the telling and hearing of our story.
